As a Deacon in the early church, Saint Phoebe, sent by the Apostle Paul, ministered in the church of Cenchreae, a busy port near Corinth, which was a common stop for travelers. Weary travelers were able to hear the message of hope and love from St. Phoebe, and she also used her social connections and wealth to help those who needed it most in terms of support and basic human needs. On Saturday, August 2, ten enthusiastic hikers gathered for our very first group outing at the beautiful Discovery Park. It was a wonderful morning of connection, fresh air, and breathtaking views. As we walked the trails together, new friendships began to form and conversations flowed easily. We concluded our hike with a heartfelt prayer of thanksgiving, grateful for the gift of community and God’s creation. We’re already looking forward to our next adventure—stay tuned!
