Children who have been baptized make their First Communion in 2nd grade, at ages 7 or 8. To best prepare their hearts to receive the body and blood of Christ, they first celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as the Sacrament of Penance or Confession). 

If your child wants to participate in our Sacramental Prep program but has not been baptized, please contact Mary-Anne to discuss. 

Program Information

We would love to help you and your child prepare for their sacraments. While we are here to help guide you on this journey, this program is designed to be a personal, reflective, and meaningful experience for you and your family. We aim for you to learn TOGETHER, discuss TOGETHER, engage TOGETHER, and deepen your understanding of your relationship with God as a family.

• Parent/Child Orientation Meeting - October 15, 2026 - St. Bridget Church - 10:15 am

• First Communion Celebrations
  May 23 at Our Lady of the Lake
  May 30 at St. Bridget
  
  Families should plan to attend one First Reconciliation celebration and one First Communion celebration. First Communion preparation will begin following the First Reconciliation celebrations. Please stay tuned for more information! 

• Registered at Assumption, Our Lady of the Lake, St. Bridget, or St. Catherine
• Regular participation in Sunday Mass and Children's Church, when it's available 
• Regular engagement with program materials as a family
• Attend all required classes and retreats; please give teachers at least a week's notice if you will be missing any classes, if possible
• An adult family member must attend the in-person sessions with their child
