Sacramental Preparation
(First Reconciliation | First Communion)-
2025 - 2026 Registration Information
Children who have been baptized make their First Communion in 2nd grade, at the age of 7 or 8. To best prepare their hearts to receive the body and blood of Christ, they first celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation (also known as the Sacrament of Penance or Confession).

We would love to help you and your child prepare for their sacraments. While we are here to help guide you on this journey, this program is designed to be a personal, reflective, and meaningful experience for you and your family. We aim for you to learn TOGETHER, discuss TOGETHER, engage TOGETHER, and deepen your understanding of your relationship with God as a family.
There will be two class session options per month at two different parish locations (one at a 9 am mass location and one at an 11 am mass location). All students will be expected to attend one of the two sessions each month. Students and families may pick either session to attend based on their schedule. Regular attendance at Mass on Sunday and these classes is expected. Retreats, First Reconciliation, and First Communion will be mandatory for all students and families. First Communion Celebration May 3rd 9am St. Bridget First Communion Option. Or (Please plan to attend one first communion celebration of your choosing) May 17th 11am Our Lady of the Lake First Communion Option. Program Expectations- Registered at Assumption, Our Lady of the Lake, St. Catherine's, or St. Bridget
- Regular participation in Sunday Mass and Children's Church, when it's available
- Regular engagement with program materials as a family
- Attend all required classes and retreats; please give teachers at least a week's notice if you will be missing any classes
- An adult family member must attend the in-person sessions with their student
