At NE Seattle Catholic Community, we are here to walk with you during times of loss and to provide comfort and support as you plan a funeral for your loved one. A Catholic funeral is a sacred celebration of life, faith, and the promise of resurrection in Christ.

Planning a Funeral

If you have recently lost a loved one, please know that you are not alone. Our pastoral team is available to assist you in planning a meaningful and prayerful funeral liturgy. Funerals may include a Vigil Service, a Funeral Mass, and a Committal Service at the gravesite.

We will guide you through:

• Selecting Scripture readings and music
• Coordinating with clergy and musicians
• Arranging for family participation in the liturgy
• Honoring the wishes of your loved one in accordance with Catholic tradition

Burial & Cremation

The Catholic Church encourages burial as a sign of respect for the body, a temple of the Holy Spirit. Cremation is also permitted, provided the ashes are laid to rest in a sacred place, such as a cemetery or columbarium.

Pastoral Care & Support

Grief does not end with the funeral. Our parishes offer support through prayer, pastoral care, and bereavement ministries to help you and your family navigate this difficult time.
