Our small but mighty St. Catherine/St. Ben's volunteer group had exactly one item on June 3: oranges du jour. We rose to the occasion and engaged in the Battle of the Oranges, wielding our weapons not of medieval swords but rather our hands - sorting and packing oranges from one-ton bins into 40 lb boxes. Looking ahead to the fall bazaar pie making, if anyone has a resource for fruits and/or berries that make great pie filling, for example, strawberries or any kind of berries, rhubarb, peaches, please stock up. If you can freeze them and keep them until fall pie-making, that is ideal, but if you need help with freezer space, we will figure something out. Questions about the pies or anything Bazaar-related? On June 2, members of our parish family came together to listen to the deepest social concerns of each other and to discuss and discern where the Spirit might be leading our group as we look ahead to 2026-27. The NESCC Social Justice coordinators will take the information and determine how our Catholic commitment to social justice might best be lived out in our parish family during the 26-27 year.
