MK has been a member of Assumption for over 25 years. During that time, she has served in ministries ranging from lectoring to special event planning, from serving as a member and chair of the parish council to singing in the choir, where she has sung since 2007. She is not a Seattle native; she grew up in Ohio and Pennsylvania, but has been a Seattleite since 1995. She and her husband, Erik Selberg, were married at Assumption in 2001. All three of their children are ASB alumni, spanning 17 years of attendance, and their youngest is now at Bishop Blanchet.
Assumption-St. Bridget has been central to her family's life for decades. MK has served on the governance council, the Parent Board, and the School Commission, including four years as School Commission chair, as well as many other volunteer roles. She has chaired the ASB auction three times and continues to support the auction program through her work with the School Advancement Office.
She sees her work with PFAC as an opportunity to continue serving the Assumption community and expand her service to the entire Northeast Seattle Catholic Community, as we work toward becoming one canonical parish that will carry forward the best each of the four churches has to offer each other and our wider community.
