Over the next two weekends, you will hear speakers at Mass offering reflections on the “Seven Principles of Catholic Social Teaching.” These principles have been a special focus of our own Archbishop Paul Etienne and, more recently, of our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. He has been an especially powerful voice for an end to the war in Iran, and an advocate for the sanctity of all human life. The reflections you will hear at Mass are at the heart of the Easter proclamation of Christ risen from the dead. The new life Christ offers is meant for everyone, everywhere, in particular in those parts of our world torn by violence and warfare. This is not a mixing of politics and religion, but a proclamation of the gospel where Jesus says, “Blessed are the peacemakers.” Challenging for sure, but at the center of our Christian faith. Thank you for your attention to these reflections.
Blessings of peace,
Ft. William Heric, Pastor
