The three schools in our family of parishes are actively engaged in registering new and returning students for the 26-27 academic year. In addition to enrollment contracts, families receive a schedule of key dates for the next school year so they can mark significant occasions on their family calendars.
The church does the same with its liturgical calendar, which marks the significant dates that highlight those celebrations that form us to live a Christian life. I am writing to remind you of one such event and hope you have marked it in your calendar. I am referring, of course, to the coming Holy Week, which begins with Palm Sunday on March 29. The sacred triduum April 2-4 includes Holy Thursday, Good Friday, and the great Easter Vigil. Easter Sunday this year is April 5th.
I sincerely hope you will plan on participating in as many of these liturgies as you possibly can. Invite family and friends to come! I know some of you get an early start on spring vacation. Please consider attending one of these liturgies before you go, and find an Easter Mass to attend wherever you travel.
Please check our Weekly Word e-bulletin for times and places for all these important celebrations in our family of parishes. I hope to see you there!
