Chris Covey was born in Spokane and baptized at the Church of St. Ann. As a child, she attended Our Lady of Fatima Church and School before moving with her family to north Seattle at age 13. During high school, she began volunteering at church, helping with faith formation classes and the youth group.
As an adult, Chris has remained deeply involved in parish life. After marrying and raising children, she moved to the Northshore area to take advantage of the special education program for her oldest son. She served as Director of Faith Formation at St. Brendan in Bothell for several years, overseeing preschool and elementary programs as well as sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion.
Since joining Our Lady of the Lake about eight years ago, Chris has been active in many areas of parish life. She has served as a Eucharistic Minister, sacristan, and altar server, and is involved with the St. Mother Teresa Altar Society Guild, the Social Justice Committee, the Liturgy Commission, the Phoebe Circle, and the Evangelization Committee. Chris also led the Partners in the Gospel team and has had the honor of offering reflections at Masses across all four NESCC parishes. Currently, she helps coordinate sacramental preparation for second graders preparing for First Reconciliation and First Communion.
Chris is honored to serve on the Parish Family Advisory Council and is excited and hopeful to support the parish family in the next stage of its journey.
